About Shrinktionary
I started Shrinktionary because patients arrive in my office holding a word and asking "what does this actually mean?" Sometimes it's a diagnosis they were given. Sometimes it's a medication a friend mentioned. Sometimes it's a term from a workbook, a therapist, or a video they watched at two in the morning. They want the real definition, the plain English version, and the context for why it matters.
Shrinktionary is that. It's a mental health dictionary, written and reviewed by a board certified psychiatrist, that explains the words people actually encounter. Every entry is reviewed for accuracy. Every entry cites sources. Every entry is part of a connected language graph called the Term Web, so one word leads naturally to the next.
It's part of The Shrink Network, a family of independent mental health properties that work together. Shrinktionary is the language layer. Shrinkopedia is the encyclopedia. AnxietyResource and DepressionResource go deep on specific conditions. PsychiatryRx covers medications. shrinQ helps you see your own patterns. shrinkMD is where clinical care happens. None of these properties run advertising. None of them earn referral revenue. The point is good information, freely available.
